About Region 3
Region 3 offers friendship and companionship to all quilters in this region (and quite a few beyond it!). We also have several groups Affiliated with The Guild. Our Regional Newsletter 'Southern Star' is produced 4 times per year, keeping members up to date on events in our area and nearby. All members receive preferential rates and priority booking at regional and area events. In addition to the Southern Star, members also receive an e-newsletter with the latest news from The Guild and frequent updates from the Region 3 Committee.
We have contact details of many local quilt groups and is a good place to look for your nearest one. Each group is welcome to send information of their open meetings and exhibitions to be included on the website by emailing the Website Editor and can also be added to the next relevant edition of the Southern Star by emailing Amelia Hanratty at n[email protected].
Our lively Facebook Group (click the link) is a members-only feature. If you would like to join the group, please email Maureen Ballard at [email protected] and remember to include your membership number.
Your committee organises two Regional Days plus a Sunday Workshop each year, in the Spring and Autumn. Our day usually consists of two speakers, a show and tell, demonstrations, traders, and a raffle.
Refreshments are available although bringing a packed lunch is always recommended. On Sunday we normally have a workshop, run by one of the Saturday speakers, either at the same venue, or a nearby village hall. As our region is rather large, we do use various venues for the regional days alternating between the north and south of the region.
We also hold Area Days which are smaller informal events - full details of all regional and local events are on the events page and published in Southern Star.
