Hi, I’m Sheena, an experienced quiltmaker and teacher. I am well-versed in writing courses which cater for a variety of learning styles and which can be presented in person or over zoom. I hold a B.Ed with a specialism in Creative Arts, and have taught in schools prior to setting up Green Man Quilts. I also hold the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate and Diploma in Patchwork and Quilting, and am currently undertaking the Quilters’ Guild Quilt Judging Course with the aim of becoming an Accredited Quilt Judge. I am a member of the Quilters’ Guild and its Modern and Contemporary Special Interest groups. I am also a member of the Modern Quilt Guild and SAQA (Studio Art Quilt Associates), which are international groups. My passion is teaching – I love working with people to support their learning, to challenge them, and to extend their reach so that they can create the quilt of their dreams! I also offer talks I am based in Hertfordshire in the UK and am happy to travel within the UK. I also deliver talks and workshops internationally over zoom.

I charge £150 for the talk about quilting and the world cruises with a charge of 45p a mile for travel to and from the venue plus any additional travel related charges – e.g. parking, accommodation or entering city charges . A talk on the Quilters’ Guild is free but mileage would be charged. If it's a late night then I would also need overnight accommodation but if it's not in the winter then we can bring the motorhome and park on someone's drive if they'll let us. I also do Zoom talks on Electric Quilt 8 software from an introductory demonstration of what the program is capable of leading to more specific subjects, like creating appliqué from pictures or tailoring the lesson to suit the needs of the group. Again £150 for the talk. I can do a physical introductory workshop on EQ8 where the participants bring their laptops with the software installed. It would probably be best suited for a half day workshop. I can then offer more advanced sessions to suit the needs of the group or private tuition for individuals can be provided at £25 per hour. Half Day workshops of 2-3 hours are £90 plus travel as above and all day workshops (10 - 4) are £180 plus travel as above. Requirements lists would be sent out beforehand so that attendees can arrive ready to start. For some mini workshops I can provide kits at cost - e.g. the fabric necklace would be a cost of £7.50 per kit. The Hoop Hoop Hooray organiser would be £7.50 per kit but the Fancy Fandango needlecase is only £6 per kit.

Beautiful Boro - The Japanese art of finding Beauty in Mending - Half Day This half day class gives an insight into the world of Japanese Boro - using scraps and leftovers to make something useful and beautiful. This is an ideal class for slowing down, doing some mindful stitching and I share my story of how I came to stitch in this style and fall in love with it. No sewing machines are required, so there is more time for stitching, chatting and connecting. Kits included at an additional £4.00 per person The True Story of the Rajah Quilt - By Sarah Ashford 180 convict women, 20 wannabe stitchers, 24 hanks of cotton thread, 100 needles, 2 pounds of patchwork pieces, 1 quilt instructor, 1 captain and 1 ship. That's how the incredible voyage from Woolwich in London to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) began, way back in 1841. By the end of the journey, there's a true romance, 20 quilters, 1 finished quilt, and hope for a new and better life on the other side of the world. Join me, as I weave facts with your imagination. I'm going to tell you the incredible true story of the Rajah Quilt; the only known transportation quilt that still exists today.

Small hand projects, Whole day projects making useful sewing accessories.

I offer talks about my own work, and influences on it, bringing some of my quilts and also antique quilts and textile pieces. I also offer a talk about folk art, and show some small quilts I have made using this as a design source - bright and quirky. I am a qualified quilt judge and can provide a talk plus judging activity for groups. I don't use slides, always bring actual quilts and other items, which I am happy for people to handle. I am happy to use a microphone.

I offer several talks - Journey with OliVen, No more squares and triangles both about my personal journeys with quilting. Another talk is Judging and Winning about my experience as judge and an award winning quilter. And last but not least I have talk about Quilted Jackets that I made and won prizes with. 15 years of teaching means I have a large amount of workshops, list is send upon interest. I offer Zoom talks as well as online teaching with pre-recorded videos that you can keep.

I give talks on vintage quilting, how to take old linens that have sat in the back of cupboards for years, often made by a family member who has now passed away, not able to part with them but not knowing what to do with them. Those old linens can be reused and made into ‘new’ family heirlooms to be seen and loved for another generation. I have lots of examples to show from wall hangings to table mats, table runners, cushions, bags bed runner and quilts Workshops are a great follow up to the talks, students bring along their own linens, lace trims, ribbons, beads, & fabrics etc. Ideas are discussed individually with each student, providing inspiration and guidance for students to develop their own ‘new’ vintage piece. A lot of planning and design goes into each project, students would need to spend more time to complete the project at home,

Although based in Norfolk I am happy to travel to give talks and workshops allover the country (at Guild mileage rates!) I love Foundation Paper Piecing, but not all my designs include FPP. Projects range from small purses and bags, which can be completed during the workshop time, to larger projects for students to finish at home. I only teach from my own patterns and offer numerous different workshops and am constantly adding new projects to my extensive list. I always provide a full set of written instructions for each student at the end of a workshop which include my contact details for after class assistance. My long term quilting project, Stitching Cromwell, is inspired by Hilary Mantel’s Thomas Cromwell Trilogy. I have created numerous pieces drawing on the trilogy, and also on the surviving historical record. I can offer talks on Stitching Cromwell itself, and on archive-based creative practices. I am an experienced speaker, and a trained historian, and am happy to talk to other quilters about my work.

Title: Favourite Places A collection of quilts inspired by favourite destinations in the UK, Europe and further afield. Starting with first ideas in sketchbooks followed by small journal pieces that are try-outs for designs, techniques and materials. These are followed by finished quilts in a variety of sizes. I show architecture from medieval to modern, the English coast, gardens and destinations such as Hong Kong, Italy and Spain. My work is contemporary and colourful, and I bring a lot of actual quilts to show.

I love traditional British quilts (which are different to American block designs!) and offer talks about the history of British quiltmaking, illustrated with close-up photos of my extensive Collection. I also like to speak about the techniques I have developed over the past thirty years for improving the precision of traditional block patchwork - including using stripes. Based in Solihull in the West Midlands, I am a textile and mixed media artist. I mostly make hangings and fabric books. I particularly like to work with text either as inspiration for my work or actually in the work. I prefer to use my own creative writing. I have a talk on my collaboration with a Peruvian tapestry weaver, Maximo Laura. I have adapted some of his designs as quilts. I also talk about African fabrics. How Orkney and Shetland inspire my quilting work. I offer retreats and workshops on Orkney, but these are not residential.

Having sewn all my life, starting as many did with their Cindy and Barbie doll clothes. I progressed onto dressmaking, cross stitch and needlepoint, in fact any and every craft I could. But then I discovered the wonderful world of P&Q. The colours, textures and simple pleasure of sewing – creating something new from bits and pieces – has become more than a hobby. I was lucky to have been the assistant editor to British Patchwork and Quilting magazine for a number of years, a job I loved which gave me the opportunity to learn from the best. Not normally a ‘competition’ quilter, I have won a few accolades at several quilt shows and enjoy the history of quilt making as much as the process. I teach patchwork and quilting at Strictly Quilting HQ, having an AEAT qualification, and love to organise sew days, workshops and retreats in the land where the traditions of quilting go back centuries.

I love to give talks and workshop either in person or via Zoom, mostly of piecing and walking foot quilting classes - with a few projects thrown in.

I have been teaching patchwork, quilting and dressmaking in Somerset for over 15 years and love teaching many techniques ...hand and machine in person or over Zoom. My real passion is applique in all its forms and decorative stitches on the sewing machine. In fact if you want something slightly different then why not Stitch Bingo? Let me show you how to get the most out of all those stitches and buttons you may never have used in a really fun and interactive way. I am also pretty good at problem solving...ideas for getting those UFO's finally finished and designing your quilts as you go, shopping your stash... quilting techniques for upcycling and garment making.... if it involves fabrics, needle and thread I'm there for it!

I have been a patchwork artist and hand quilter since 2010. I do the entire process by hand, trying to evoke the labours of our ancestors both in the UK and the US, the two countries that have most inspired my work. I am based in South Oxfordshire but am always willing to travel within a fifty mile radius. I enjoy giving talks and have recently expanded options - apart from my favourites, Gee's Bend Quilts and its quilters and Civil War Quilts, I now offer Amish Quilts, The Lost Art of the Mormon Quilters, the Amish and their Quilts and Welsh Quilts. As far as workshops go, I am always interested in helping others embrace this fantastic art, so diverse and rich in possibilities. One of my favourites of late has been Making a Memory Quilt, as it allows makers to create something unique, based on their own experiences of love and loss.

Having been quilting for over 50 years I feel confident in and enjoy giving my talk on My life in Pieces where I show loads of my quilts made over the years. My style is mainly traditional with a modernish twist. I don’t like making the same quilt twice although the one shown here is my most recent completed quilt based on a Chicago pattern I made about 40 years ago which was very traditional. I am a textile artist creating vibrant art quilts with dye, paint, ink and stitch. My talk is "Please Don't Look at the Back", an energetic and amusing romp through my journey from shoe design to professional quilter, with lots of quilts to see and handle. Who am I... Hi I'm Matt and I'm from a sleepy Dorset village in the UK. I studied sculpture at university and formerly used my creative hands in a different way when I had an artisan bakery. After a life changing accident when I broke my back, I discovered quilting in 2016 as part of my recovery and have been creating ever since. I combine my love of sculpture with quilting in a unique way. Greatest Quilty Achievement to date... In 2025 my “Wear Your Wings With Pride”, won 1st prize in the Quilted Creations category at Festival of Quilts in 2025. I also wore it at the fashion show! Workshops & Talks... I write my own patterns for 3D quilted creations and run in-person and online workshops. I have a multi-camera setup in my sewing studio for professional online teaching. I have given talks on my personal journey from ill health, discovering quilting and my creative process.

I have been quilting for over 30 years and have been coordinator for miniature and contemporary group & coordinator for region 3 & 4 in the past. I have travelled Uk and abroad giving talks and running workshops and would love to continuing doing that. Love meeting people. I mainly love making contemporary quilts but have some modern, art & Miniature quilts too. Workshops I run are unique and easy for all abilities. These are mainly using a sewing machine but most can be hand sewn too. I am happy to run half and full day workshop or even 2 day workshops. All my quilts evolve as I make them and are never repeated. I love the creative process and teaching that too
