Whether you're the member who pours the tea at Regional get togethers, the Quilt Steward with the white gloves at exhibitions, or the person who sits on the Trustee Board, volunteers are the lifeblood of our organisation. And what better way to get the most out of being a member than to get involved and help to shape our Guild?

You can read about the experiences of just some of our volunteers:

About Volunteering

We all know that volunteering benefits those who are being helped. But did you know that there are also some surprising benefits for the volunteer? Volunteering can improve your health and wellbeing, and even further your career!

You may be looking for new friends, the chance to be more active or to pass on your skills and knowledge in quilting. Whatever you are looking for, we have a role for you and will give you training and support throughout your volunteer journey.

Volunteering Opportunites

We have so many different roles to choose from and we value the individual skills of each member. If you think you would like to get involved at a regional level, have a chat with your Regional coordinator to see what opportunities there are, or to register your interest. If you'd be interested in sharing your quilting know-how with youngsters, our Young Quilters are always glad to welcome new helpers.

If longer term volunteering isn't for you perhaps helping  with Stewarding at Festival of Quilts would suit?

Why not take a look at our full list of national volunteer roles and standard regional roles to help you decide where you'd feel at home? We also have a list of current national volunteer vacancies which are available right now. Details of how to apply are included in the vacancies link.

Found a role you'd like, but it's not vacant? Don't worry, we'd be delighted to take expressions of interest. Just email [email protected] to let us know.
