The Guild loans items, where appropriate, for exhibitions in museums and galleries in the UK and abroad.
Quilt groups can book one of our 'Travelling Trunks' which provides a small exhibition or 'show and tell' of items from the handling collection complete with notes telling you about the items. If you would like to know more about this please contact our curator - [email protected]
We are able to welcome pre-booked groups of up to 15 people to visit for a curator's talk and to view items from the Collection please contact [email protected]
The images on this website are the copyright of The Quilters' Guild or of the quilter or photographer who created the image. You are contravening copyright law if you take and use images without permission.
However the Quilters' Guild has hundreds of images of historic and contemporary quilts. If you would like to use Guild images in any publication or product, you should contact the Bridgeman Art Library which holds a number of Quilters' Guild images or The Quilters' Guild - [email protected] for details
Contact the Guild Curator providing as much information about the quilt as you have including family connections, maker information and history along with photographs of the piece. Sadly we cannot accept every quilt that is offered to us. Storage space for the collection is limited and we can only accept quilts which fit into our collecting policy.
We have produced two leaflets giving advice on caring for old quilts at home. Click to download Historic Quilts: Cleaning and Repair or Historic Quilts: Care in the Home.
