The purpose of this annual award is to enable a student who is graduating or has graduated from a variety of textile courses to further their textile studies. They should have either recently graduated or are within 12 months of having graduated. The award aims to raise the profile of patchwork, quilting and associated stitched textiles and also the role of The Quilters' Guild. The award is open to students graduating from textile-related courses. Courses can include BA, City and Guilds, both certificate and diploma, HNC and HND.
This Award is given once every two years to a teacher who is a Guild member to help meet the cost of pursuing further educational study by attending classes, seminars, etc., either in the UK or abroad. The applicant must have been a Guild member for at least two years. The closing date for applications is 30 November of an odd numbered year and the award will be made available from January in the year following application. Download the Travel Award (Teacher) Guidelines or contact The Guild for more information.
