Sue Belton was a well-known teacher of beginners who inspired very many new quilters with her friendly advice, support and knowledge. When she died, she bequeathed a sum of money to encourage the educational work of The Guild, especially to encourage novice quilters to extend their newly discovered skills and ideas. We would also like to encourage longer-standing members who would like to try a new technique, especially those who wish to learn hand and frame quilting. First awarded in 1994, the prize is given annually and is currently worth £600. It can be spent on classes of the winner’s choice.
The closing date for applications is 28 February.
