Did you know that your membership gives you access to many Bursaries & Awards? Whether you are a novice quilter or a seasoned maker, you will find something that you can apply for. Below, please find a full list of the bursaries and awards we offer:

The Anne Tuck Bursary is awarded to a member of Contemporary Textiles (was Contemporary Quilt), a Special Interest Group within The Guild, for an outstanding entry into their annual Contemporary Textiles (was Contemporary Quilt) Challenge at Festival of Quilts by an exhibitor with under three years' membership in the group. Should you be successful, the award of £100 will help fund a course or workshop to further your quilting skills. Click here for further details

The British Quilt Study Group Research Bursary is awarded yearly to a member of this Special Interest Group. The aim is to fund quality research, which will be presented at the group's annual seminar and published in their journal, Quilt Studies. Should you win, this award of up to £500 can be used to further develop your research into an aspect of the history or contemporary practice of quilting-making. Click here for further details

This annual award, open to non-guild members, is aimed at students graduating from a range of courses and aims to enable them to further their textile studies. It seeks to raise the profile of patchwork, quilting, and associated stitched textiles and the role of The Quilters' Guild. The award is open to students graduating from textile-related courses. Courses can include BA, City and Guilds, both certificate and diploma, and HNC and HND. Click here for further details

Modern Special Interest Group would like to offer a bursary to a member to extend their skills and ideas of Modern Quilting. This could be for a newer member or for a longer-standing member who would like to try a new technique. This bursary is for £1000. It can be spent on classes or workshops, either in person or on Zoom, travel abroad, etc of the winner’s choice. Click here for further details

The Sue Belton Memorial Prize is to encourage novice quilters to extend their newly discovered skills and ideas. We would also like to encourage longer-standing members who would like to try a new technique, especially those who wish to learn hand and frame quilting. This prize is given annually and is currently worth £600. It can be spent on classes of the winner’s choice. Click here for further details

The Teachers Travel Award is available if you are a teacher who has been a part of our Guild for over two years, and applications are considered every two years. The award exists to enable you to help meet the cost of further educational study either in the UK or abroad or through relevant online learning and investigation. Click here for further details
