The Quilters' Guild has an excellent network of volunteers throughout the UK. It relies on their support to deliver Guild activities at national and local level. There are so many benefits to be gained from volunteering with The Guild.

We are currently looking for Trustees and Officers to work with us at national level:

Trustees are first and foremost members of The Quilters' Guild. Their collective knowledge and expertise of patchwork and quilting, Guild regions and different aspects of business is invaluable to us. Becoming a trustee is an excellent opportunity to represent the members that we serve. The role is strategic and is interesting, stimulating and rewarding. This is an exciting and challenging time for The Guild. If you are interested in learning more about how The Guild functions and influencing our direction, a trustee role could be for you.

Commercial /marketing expertise at a senior level.

To support the Guild / FOQ Ltd marketing and retail teams to drive profitability and alignment across technology and events, delivering against strategic objectives & business plans.

HR expertise.

Someone who has worked within an HR capacity and who is able to support the Trustee/Chief Executive to ensure all things HR related are addressed appropriately.

Communications Trustee including Technology / Social media skills.

We are seeking a trustee to lead The Guild's internal and external communications and public relations. An important qualifier for this role is the ability to inspire members and to help us align our communications. Our ideal candidate exercises strong leadership skills to motivate employees and develop strategic communication plans. Please contact [email protected] for an initial chat.

Trustee meetings are usually held around six times a year. Before Covid-19 restrictions, these were face to face meetings in York with a short meeting held after the AGM in April. In the future, we anticipate that we will hold both physical and virtual meetings. Trustees are also asked to give as much of their time as they can to attend the AGM/Conference and support our activities in person at Festival of Quilts (FOQ) when these are held as physical events. Normal Guild expenses apply to the trustee role.

Fundraising Officer
In order to boost our finances and continue the organisations advancement we would really welcome and appreciate support to develop successful fund raising bids. If you have successfully worked on funding applications, our Chief Executive and Treasurer would really appreciate your support to secure these vital funds. National Young Quilter Officer
We need a volunteer to work closely with YQ volunteers, keep our YQ volunteer Facebook page up to date and to help support our YQ activity. Please contact [email protected] for more details.

Education Officer
We have several new and exciting education programmes in development. As an educational charity, the role of the Education Officer is to work with the Education Trustee to oversee and ensure that this aim is preserved. They would also help to manage the delivery of new education initiatives. This role requires strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to work with the usual IT packages, and preferably with a sound knowledge of education/delivering education programmes. Events Officer
