So there you are – I’ve admitted it! I entered a piece – in a year with record numbers, fortunately – but It Won’t Be Finished. Oh no, I hear you say, it’s only July xx, you’ve still got time, especially as you’ll be taking it down on July 27th…

About the very successful Quiltfest North 2026.

That was a visitor comment heard during Quilt Fest North at Astley Hall in Chorley. We saw fantastic attendance at Quilt Fest North, which this year focussed on modern, contemporary and art quilts. We had plenty of talent on show with award winning work, and it was a celebration of patchwork and quilting in the broadest sense of the art and craft. To educate and inspire are key aims for The Quilters’ Guild, and Region 13 certainly did this.

I went to the 30 th anniversary edition of this show, which I have seen advertised and read reports on for many years, as the UK rep on the EQA – the European Quilt Association, here to run the exhibition of the 500 + “Contrast” quilts - each 35cm square submitted by quilters from Iceland to Ukraine. These are my personal reflections…Btw, I think our EQA exhibit was one of the best things at the Alsace show this year! An explosion of colour, ideas and contrasting styles - I loved it!

Beartown Patchwork & Quilters like to meet their neighbours from time to time by inviting a local group to come and show us their quilts and we go back to show them ours. It's a great way to spend an evening.

Liverpool Young Quilters have been very productive in September and just look at what they have made! This great group meets on the last Saturday of each month between 10am and 12.30am, at: Sing Plus 53 Cambridge Road, Seaforth, L21 1EZ. Booking is essential.

Quote from Ruth who has joined the Guild recently, after coming to the monthly workshops since January as a beginner. I hope it is useful to you.

Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles Sapphire Street, Region 13 entries. These blocks are part of the UK wide Sapphire Street project run by the Quilters Guild of the British Isle. As they probably won't be next to each other in the completed quilt we would like to show you Region 13 entries.
