We are a group of quilters, including all disciplines from traditional quilters to art quilters and everything in between. Skill levels vary from beginners to quilters recognised at the Festival of Quilts. Members include miniaturists and multi media quilters, modern and traditional quilters. All our members are ready to share their expertise and the elected committee works hard to produce a good programme each year.
We meet 6 times a year and run around 5 workshops when invited recognised quilters or related textile artists speak and teach. We occasionally run a meeting or workshop online using zoom as we discovered during COVID times that this meant we could connect with distant and even international quilters. We usually run a Members Day at least once a year when members can drop by or spend the day enjoying textile related activities, eg dyeing.
Our meetings are held, usually, on the third Thursday in each of February, April, June, September, and November. The meetings start at 8.00pm and last for about two hours. They consist of a talk followed by show and tell, tea and coffee, sales and a raffle. The Annual General Meeting is held around March and is open only to members, guests are welcome at other meetings. Guests may attend for no more than two meetings before they are obliged to become members. The day after a meeting there is usually a workshop given by the speaker.
Recent speakers include Sarah Hibbert, Karen Lewis and Nicholas Ball.

The meetings are very informal, covering club business to start and then on to the good stuff. We have a variety of speakers and demonstrations on all forms of Quilting, to help on your quilting journey and further your knowledge. There is always someone who will be happy to help on any quilting issues and have a show and tell, which is lovely to see what fellow members have been making. The group also makes Premmie quilts for the local hospital, which are gratefully received.
We also have a sew and chat meeting once a month on a Thursday. Once again, we are a very friendly lot and happy to share/receive any knowledge. Many subjects are talked about not necessary sewing related.
