Patchwork and Quilting Group
4th Wednesday of each month not including July and August
We are a friendly group who meet monthly to pursue our interests in all textiles, and embroidery.
We meet monthly, September to June, on the third Thursday of the month, usually having a workshop often with an outside speaker/tutor. We also have informal meetings, usually the first Thursday of the month, at Members' houses where we sew, knit, etc. and chat over a shared lunch.
We are a group whose members are all interested in patchwork, quilting and related crafts.
Members meet monthly, usually for talks, occasionally for a sewing evening. These are sometimes followed by a workshop.
Membership fees are currently £20 per year
We meet on the 4th Tuesday of each month except August and December, 7.30 - 9.30pm
The meetings usually include a speaker, followed by raffle, notices, show and tell etc.
Sometimes we also have a workshop on the following day
Quilting Group which meets on the first Friday of the month.
Group of like minded people who get together one day a month to quilt. Some months we have a social day where everyone does their own thing and other months we have an organised day where there is a planned workshop or speaker. We currently have approx 30 members, the numbers have gone down since Covid.
We are an Independent stitch group started in 2020. We welcome members from across South Lakes. We focus on stitching and stitch and textile associated skills, from crazy patchwork to hand or machine stitching to traditional hand embroidery. You do not need to be an experienced stitcher to join our group. We have a Chair/Secretary and Treasurer and a small committee. We raise all the money that we need to operate through our membership.
We meet the first Tuesday in the month ( apart from August) from 10.00- 3.00.
People bring their own lunch and we provide tea and coffee.
Each month we learn a new skill primarily taught by one of our members. Next year we will be having some external tutors to teach us new skills.
Things we have learnt in the past include: Crazy Patchwork, Dorset Buttons, Procein Dyeing, Felting, Textile Postcards, Applique, Reverse Applique, Silk Paper Making, Weaving, Hand Embroidery, Crewel Work, Blackwork, Felt Landscapes.
We meet in Calderbridge & Ponsonby Village Hall on the 3rd Wednesday of every month except August at 7:30pm
and 1st Saturday for sewing day 10am to 4pm
We are a general interest stitching group - we have patchworkers, embroiderers and lacemakers at the moment! Anyone is welcome
