Following a suggestion from some of our international members – to whom we are very grateful, we have created a permanent open link to Zoom where members can join at any time - day or night.

If you are having an issue with your stitching, a problem with your patchwork or want to chat with a like-minded person, you can drop in to our Zoom Room and have a chin-wag.

Of course, we can’t guarantee there will always be someone else to chat with, but it only takes a few seconds to open the Zoom link to check and see if anyone is there.

This room will be unmonitored – staff members may pop by occasionally – but the intention is to offer a space for members to meet other members and maybe get to know someone you have never met before.

As the room will be unmonitored, we ask you to kindly observe the following guidelines.

1 Be respectful to others – allow everyone the space to speak

2 Mute your microphone when you are not speaking

3 Keep your camera on

4 Remember the topic is patchwork and quilting (it's easy to go off subject, we all do from time to time, so please don't be offended if another member asks to bring the chat back to sewing).

We hope you enjoy this new venture, but please don’t worry, it won’t be replacing any of our other Zoom offerings. Regional and S.I.G. Zoom meetings, the Loft, Coffee with Carol etc will all continue as normal. We know meeting up and sewing together with cuppas and cake is the best way to spend the day, but with friends living far away, and with all of our busy schedules, those days are not as easy to achieve. We might not be able to meet up in each others' kitchens and sew around a frame together like generations before us, but we can have the next best thing thanks to technology!
