A mixed ability group of sewers who enjoy all aspects of patchwork and quilting. Members are free to work on their own projects or join in with individual/group set projects - some of which are presented to charities or even displayed at The Festival of Quilts.

Founded in 1989 Essex & Suffolk Quilters meet monthly in Colchester to enjoy a varied programme of speakers from all walks of the patchwork, quilting and textile world with the occasional ‘sit and sew’ evenings. Throughout the year we also hold sewing days (mostly on a Saturday) where we focus on our community projects including Quilts for Care Leavers and Project Linus.

We are small group in the village of South Woodham Ferrers established in 1998.

Members work on their own projects or help with Charity Quilts. Quilts have been donated to various groups such as Project Linus, British Legion, Care Leavers, Foster homes and local care homes,
Basically, if someone or a group need a quilt then the members start sewing.
Keene Quilters is an established quilting group with 60 members that has been meeting for over 30 years.
We host weekly meetings and are involved in several community projects. We always welcome visitors so please do come along and join us.
Keene Quilters is a warm and friendly quilting group that meets every Monday between 1pm - 4pm.
On the 2nd and 4th Monday we host a variety of talks and workshops, both in person and via ZOOM. Visitors are always welcome to these talks and full details can can be found on the Region 8 Events page or by joining our mailing list.
The intervening Mondays are called our Sit & Stitch meetings where you can bring along a project and sit and stitch with friends. There is always someone on hand to help or offer advice and we supply the tea, coffee and biscuits.

Pier Patchers Quilting Group meets every other month either in the morning or evening. We have a variety of events, from speakers and workshops to sit and sew sessions.

Roding Quilters: a patchwork and quilting group who meet in Chigwell, Essex - and draws members from East London and West Essex, as well as having a small number of members who live further away and join us for zoom meetings (in the winter months). The group has been running for over twenty years - and has run several popular quilt exhibitions and attracts an interesting set of speakers each year; plus has a thriving Facebook group.

Formed in January 2013, the group welcomes all quilters regardless of experience and, as a result, the group has a wide range of skills and knowledge within its membership. The group programme is a mix of social events and activities. The group arranges around 6 workshops each year in addition to the monthly programme.

Membership is £40 annually for as many Wednesday meetings as you choose to attend.

A new charity sewing group has been created.
Members can work on their own charity projects; such Quilts for Care Leavers and Project Linus. Patterns will be available for driver bags, mastectomy cushions etc. We have plenty of ideas and fabric scraps too.
We meet at Messing Village Hall, The Street, Colchester CO5 9TN on the 4th Thursday of the month from 10am till 3pm, starting 23rd May 2024.

Cotton Cub held their first meeting in 1993 to promote the love and creativity of Patchwork and Quilting through inspiration by local and international speakers and demonstrators.
Once a month, on the 3rd Wednesday evening, we have a social evening at Saint Michael and All Angels Church Hall, Martlesham Heath, usually with a talk on a wide range of subjects but they are always textile related. Visitors are very welcome to attend our meetings for £5, payable on the door.
We also hold workshop days in Bredfield or Charsfield Village Halls where like-minded quilters, sewers, and knitters can meet up for a chat, seek advice on their projects and work together in convivial surroundings.

Fibrefusion was set up in 2000 by Pauline Verrinder as a Contemporary Textile art group. The group continues today meeting once a month in Fornham St Martin near Bury St Edmunds. We use a range of materials and techniques with the focus on stitched textiles. Members come from a wide area including Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex. Each year a title is chosen by the group as a focus for our work. We develop our own design ideas, responding to the theme. Group challenges are also undertaken and our final pieces are showcased at an exhibition each year. The group works in a supportive fashion, discussing work and suggesting ideas.
The group usually meets on the first Tuesday of the month at Fornham St Martin Village Hall near Bury St Edmunds, between 10.00 am and 3.00/4.00 pm. Members work on a range of ideas to develop final pieces related to our chosen theme. We also discuss plans and ideas for the group and produce items for sale at our exhibition.
We are a friendly group consisting of members with different skill levels from beginner to advanced.
