Miniature Quilt Group
Online
Free to MQG members only.
Following a from the previous workshop with Sue Battley on interleaved fabric techniques, this workshop focuses on creating a miniature Convergence quilt. Having explored the method with larger quilt tops and samples, Sue has developed and tested a miniature version, identifying practical solutions to the challenges of working at a smaller scale.
The design uses strip widths based on the Fibonacci sequence, ranging from ¼” to 2”, and includes techniques that avoid the difficulties associated with handling very narrow strips. Art Gallery fabrics, with their tight weave (available from Cow and Giraffe), are recommended, although batiks also work well. A ½” ruler (available from CraftyUK) is a particularly useful tool for the project.
This is an enjoyable and accessible make, suitable for quilters looking to explore miniature quilt construction and interleaved fabric techniques.
