Guild day at New Inn Sept 2023

A goodly crowd of lovely ladies gathered at New Inn back in the Autumn. With things beginning to feel as if we were getting back to the normal we enjoyed pre 2020 and you know what! The internet and zoom stood us well but nothing beats getting together with like minded people in the flesh. We enjoyed a busy day with a speaker, show and tell, a mini workshop and lots of cake. What more can you ask for?

Maureen Crawford had been recommended by Wendy Robins and didn’t disappoint. With Sue and Lynn assisting we were royally entertained with dozens of quilts held high enough on the stage for all to see. Their arms must have been dropping off by the end of Maureen’s talk. We all know where to go if we need extra insulation in the coming winter months.

Our show and tell was as delightful as always with a host of quilts in a range of styles. Our pictures don’t really do them justice.

The afternoon was spent beavering away on a Christmas make. Everybody had brought pre cut fabrics to swap and share as well as threads to embellish. While nobody completed a holly garland on the day I know of several that have gone on to complete their pieces which were hopefully hanging at home over the festive season.

I’m already looking forward to the next day! Do join us if you can, we’d love to see you.
