Llangynidr Guild Day October 2003

Frances Meredith enthralled us with her quilting journey at our guild day in Llangynidr. Frances hand pieces her quilts using EPP and FPP but rarely hand quilts her quilts. She started long arm quilting when she could no longer keep up with all her quilts. Some are digitally quilted. There are many advantages to using the long arm quilter, according to Frances. One is that the patterns can be reproduced in different sizes.

She also counts the number of pieces that she uses and keeps a record of how long she takes to complete the quilt.

Her ‘Dear Jane’ was beautiful. It took 933 days to complete. Frances marked the quilt at the front, recording her name and the number of pieces.

We thoroughly enjoyed the talk and all the quilts Frances showed us, many questions were asked !
