We started off our autumn programme with a day at the top of the valley, in Hirwaun Community Hall. We had not been there before, and we found an absolutely beautiful hall to hold the event. It was a relaxed day with no formalities as such. We helped ourselves to refreshments and chatted to our heart’s contents. We welcomed some new ladies from the surrounding area and groups, which was lovely, and everyone was challenged to speak to somebody they had not spoken to before. And I checked!

In the afternoon we had a game, organised by Wendy, and of course the raffle. Andrea from Black Mountain fabrics in Abergavenny joined us for some retail therapy and more cake was eaten.

All in all, I believe, a good time was had by all, and although we went home hot and full, it was definitely something we will do again. So look out for an event near you, and come and join in the fun.
