Keta made this quilt during lockdown. She started a few of the squares with friends from a local quilting group a year before lockdown, and couldn?t find a suitable use for them then. The squares were a workshop technique involving a jelly roll, the only jelly roll she liked was a Moda jelly roll in blues, which reminded her of water. During lockdown, she designed the overall pattern using the squares and added the fish images. It was quilted on her long arm Handi quilter involving free motion and pro stitcher designer. It also has hand stitched elements.
It now resides in her neighbour?s house, on his guest bed. It wasn?t made with him in mind, but he liked it and so now it is his!

Pat Axtell's quilt inspired by a workshop that she did with Sarah Humphreys at the Guild's AGM in Nottingham in 2019. It is a variation on Log Cabin and Courthouse Steps and is entirely made from Pat's scrap drawer. It now hangs on the back of her chair.

The central panel is surrounded by 16 blocks, drawn by Pat Cox her appliqué mentor. It is needle-turned appliqué and Ros has used Broderie Perse for all the flowers in the blocks. It is hand quilted.

Greta lived in North Carolina from 2000-2002 and was an active member of the Tar River Quilters. When she left to came home, her quilting friends each presented her with a block. When she went back on a visit some 15 years later they gave her another block each and that's what finally inspired her to make this quilt. This quilt therefore was over twenty years in the making and has happy memories of Greta's time in the US and the good friends she made.. It's made with those blocks on on one side bordered with Americana fabrics with words from the American constitution.
