Welcome to your very own Region 14 'Play Day'. Our speakers will talk about their use of Sketchbooks to help them develop techniques and ideas for textiles designs;

A sketchbook is included in the fee.

Mary Whitehouse - An emerging Textile Artist. Using discarded materials, Mary creates works that challenge viewers to consider issues of social justice.

Nicky Brunger - A Textile Artist and Handweaver. Her current work involves different lettering styles. Nicky brings fun and enjoyment to every process - whatever she is making.

Pippa Wardman - A Maker of Art; featuring Hand Embroidery and Machine Quilting.
Her sketchbooks enable her to enjoy the creative design process, taking inspiration from the natural world.

In the afternoon, you will use your provided Sketch Book to experiment in the practical, taster workshops; Gelli Printing, Embroidery, Decorative Thread Work, Drawing/Painting and Mark Making - to encourage you to play and experiment.
