The Quilters' Guild is a charity registered in England and Wales (1067361) and a company limited by guarantee (03447631), we are also registered as a charity in Scotland (SC043174).
Our members are an integral part of our structure. They elect our trustees to the board and provide the insights and guidance that ensures we are progressing in the right direction.
Alongside the regional and national teams of volunteers, we have a few keep people that help bring the strategy to life and take care of business operations.
Our Trustees are unpaid members of the charity who are either elected to the board by the other members or invited to join the board for their specialist knowledge or skills.
The board are responsible for setting the overall strategy and direction of the charity, and for ensuring the Quilters' Guild uses its resources effectively in pursuit of our mission.
Our Executive Team work closely with our Board of Trustees to help take the vision and strategy from the written word into a tangible reality. They are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the charity.
The Quilters' Guild have a small staff team of 7 based at the registered office in York. The staff are in place to help. Whether you are a member or volunteer the staff team are on-hand Monday to Friday for support.
Our charity is governed by its Articles of Association. This is a document sets out the charity’s objects, and the framework within which we must operate to achieve these.
Our Articles of Association are approved by the Charity Commission, and are regularly reviewed by the board of trustees to ensure they remain up to date.
