Guild of the British Isles is a registered educational charity and relies
on funds donated by members and others to fulfil our aims.
How can you support The Guild?
The most important thing you can do to support The Guild is to be a member. Our members are The Guild and membership subscriptions form the majority of The Guild’s annual income. Without our members The Guild would not exist, so becoming a member is the first step in supporting The Guild.
Have Fun Raising Funds
Every year lots of people raise money for The Guild in many different ways. Some people hold a fundraising event such as a garden party or coffee morning and others make things to sell to raise funds for The Guild. All donations are most welcome and form an important part of The Guild’s income each year.
Directing Your Donation
If you are particularly interested in one aspect of The Guild’s work, you can direct your donation towards a specific purpose.
The Guild works with Students and Young Quilters introducing young people to the art of patchwork, quilting and appliqué and developing life-long needlework and design skills. Your donation could support our work with young people.
The Guild holds The Quilters' Guild Collection of over 800 heritage and contemporary quilts. Although we no longer run the Quilt Museum and Gallery, these quilts need continual care, which includes the salary of the Curator and specialist equipment . If you have a passion for historic quilts then your donation could be directed to support the care of the Collection through the Quilters' Guild Collection Fund or the purchase and conservation of quilts in the Collection via Conservation Club.

Don't forget to let us know who you are and if you would like your donation to be used for a particular purpose.
Gift Aid It!
If you pay tax in the UK on income or savings you can
sign a Gift Aid declaration. This will
allow The Guild to reclaim the tax you have paid on your subscription and donations – adding an extra 25% to the value of your gift.
Giving Regular Donations
Sanderson Star Group
Members who would like to give more to The Guild on a regular basis can join the Sanderson Star Group by giving a donation equivalent to their annual subscription or more each year. This extra income makes a valuable contribution to supporting The Guild and each year we have a special event for ‘Star Supporters’ to thank them for their extra support for The Guild. To join the Sanderson Star Group tick the box on your subscription form and enclose your donation.
Members wishing to give regular support to our Young Quilters' Project can join the YQ100 Club. Members donate £10 each month by standing order. A draw is held on the last Friday of each month and half of the funds in the 'kitty' are distributed as 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes. The remaining half of the money goes to support The Guild's work with Young Quilters. The YQ100 Club welcomes new members.
