Jane Wilshaw

Retired Director of Nursing.
Started quilting with the Riyadh Quilt Guild in Saudi Arabia when working there as an Executive Nurse after retiring from the NHS. During my time with the Guild I designed and led the Block of the Month for 2014. "Seasons". I bought my first Bernina 440QE to relearn sewing and then upgraded on retirement to a Bernina 880+, a wonderful machine.
Spent one year in Iraq in 2006 as a Health Specialist to assist in rebuilding their Health Service after the war. An amazing and humbling experience.
I have completed 6 king size quilts for family and my home and several hanging quilts. I hope to submit one to the Quilt Show. My most recent quilt is bespoke for my brother in law who has moved to a new house. He wanted it to feature his favorite dragon 'Canth' from the Ann McCafrey books. I am a member of the Quilt Show and completed their Halo Block of the Month by Sue Garmen which now covers my sofa, I am very pleased with it and learnt a great deal from doing it. My quilts can be seen on my Pinterst account 'janeidlerocks'
I am crrently working on a table cover which is designed by myself and is backed by chenille to enable us to play cards.
