Volunteer Vacancies

YOUR GUILD NEEDS YOU! - Exciting national roles for volunteers

The Quilters’ Guild has an excellent network of volunteers throughout the UK. It relies on their support to deliver Guild activities at national and local level. There are so many benefits to be gained from volunteering with The Guild. Please click here to find out about these.

We currently have the following national volunteer vacancies on offer:

Trustees

Trustees are first and foremost members of The Quilters' Guild. Their collective knowledge and expertise of patchwork and quilting, Guild regions and different aspects of business is invaluable to us.  Becoming a trustee is an excellent opportunity to represent the members that we serve. The role is strategic and is interesting, stimulating and rewarding. This is an exciting and challenging time for The Guild. If you are interested in learning more about how The Guild functions and influencing our direction, a trustee role could be for you.

We are currently looking in particular, at recruiting people who have skills in marketing and sales, especially using online platforms. However, there are three trustee vacancies to fill so even if this skills set does not apply to you, but you are still interested in shaping our future, please do apply.

Trustee meetings are usually held around six times a year. Before Covid-19 restrictions, these were face to face meetings in York with a short meeting held after the AGM in April. In the future, we anticipate that we will hold both physical and virtual meetings. Trustees are also asked to give as much of their time as they can to attend the AGM/Conference and support our activities in person at Festival of Quilts (FOQ) when these are held as physical events. Normal Guild expenses  apply to the trustee role.

For an informal discussion about the role of trustee, please contact our President via: president@quiltersguild.org.uk

To apply for the position of trustee you will need 10 nominations from current Guild members which can be obtained using the nomination form below. Due to current restrictions, you can collect the nomination form signatures via email. Nominations from each person can be submitted to us separately, rather than having to include these all in one form. If you need our help in contacting members by email to ask them to nominate you, please get in touch via: admin@quiltersguild.org.uk. You can download the Trustee role description and the two related application documents - biography and nomination form from this page.  Once completed, please send the nomination form and the completed biography form to:

Administrator, The Quilters' Guild, St Anthony’s Hall, Peasholme Green, York, YO1 7PW or email these to: admin@quiltersguild.org.uk
