Annelize Littlefair

My main interest is long arm quilting and in particular free hand customised quilting. I have a Handiquilter Infinity. I do NOT have a Pro stitcher. I love ruler work and planning out my own designs, which is usually drawn out to full scale on paper before I do the quilting. I also love doing wholecloth quilts.
I also love hand sewing, and usually have at least one hand sewing project on the go. At the moment I am working on a 1/2" hexagon paper pieced quilt for a king size bed, and I have recently finished a Dutch Treat quilt (196 4" blocks, all reverse hand appliqué). I also love appliqué, in particular hand appliqué. My favourite piecing is foundation piecing and the next step forward for me is to design my own patterns.
I have entered my first competition quilt into Malvern in 2014, "Kutch Diamonds", for which I have been awarded Best in show. In 2015 I came second in bed quilts at Malvern with "Whistler: Fire and Ice" and first in theme quilts with "When rainbows dance" and first in theme category for "Gabi's quilt at Sandown.
I entered "The trouble with magenta, hot or not" into the World quilt show in 2015 and was awarded Best from UK. When I entered "Kutch Diamonds" into world show in 2016, I was awarded 2nd place in traditional category. "The trouble with magenta, hot or not" was awarded best in traditional category at FoQ in 2017 and I came 1st in traditional category with "Nostalgia" at the World quilt show in 2017.
I have started the Quilter's Guild judging course early in 2017. My blog is not fully up to date, but I am working on that and should hopefully soon have more time to keep it up to date.
My blog is at http://byannelize.blogspot.co.uk.
I also have a Facebook page under the name Quiltsbyannelize
