Research using our Library

The Guild Library has a dedicated room within our Quilt Museum and Gallery in York. There are about 1700 books on all aspects of patchwork, quilting and appliqué, including textile history, design and individual quiltmakers.

Our Library can be used to research topics in our wide range of books and documentation.  This service is free to Guild members; non-members will be required to make a payment.

We have a number of books which are classified for Reference Only due to their rarity or condition and many books which may be borrowed by Guild members.  Please click on the Loans entry in the left hand margin now to learn more about borrowing books.

If you are considering coming to use the Library please telephone in advance as the Library can only be opened when we have volunteers available.  At present this is normally restricted to Wednesday until we can recruit more volunteers to help in this area of The Guild's work.
