Hello,

I hope you are all enjoying the spring weather (well we've had a bit of sunshine) and are working on one of the competitions for 2010. It was fantastic to see the entries for the AGM competition of Sun, Sea and Sand recently and I can't wait to see your entries for the Festival of Quilts. The children’s competition for Festival of Quilts 2010 allows you to enter a quilt that is any size and any technique. For more details see the twisted thread website www.twistedthread.com.  The theme is “Cityscapes”

If you see me at any Guild events please say hello and tell me about what you like to make.  In each area of the country we have representatives who organise workshops for young quilters.  There are challenges and events in your region so please don’t hesitate to contact The Guild for more information.

If you are 16 or under and enjoy sewing, dyeing, fabric painting or stencilling, Young Quilters is for you. Young Quilters is all about having fun.

If you would like to write about a workshop you have done or a visit to a show or exhibition, the Young Quilter Editor would love to hear from you.

Young Quilters is open to anyone up to the age of 16. The current price for membership is £5.00. Look at what you get:

• Two issues of the Young Quilter plus two issues of The Quilter each year.
• A YQ workshop at the AGM and conference weekend.
• The opportunity to enter an annual challenge and win exciting prizes. Each entry is displayed at the AGM.
• Regional events such as exhibitions and workshops run by YQ reps for you.
