Welcome to Region 9: From Your Regional Co-ordinator

Welcome to the Region Nine webpages!

Here you will find information about quilting activities in Cambridgeshire and Norfolk. We list committee members and local groups and will be especially pleased to hear from you if you are new to the area. 

We are looking for additional Committee Members, especially someone to lead our work with Young Quilters, which Region 9 is making a special project for the next three years, and we seek area representatives for South Norfolk and East Norfolk/Norwich. If you would be prepared to serve the Region in this way, please do get in touch with me.

We also need to put on appropriate events, in various areas, which will encourage young quilters to attend. This is an important issue for us.  We have seen, from the quality of entries from Young Quilters at the Festival of Quilts, that there is a huge potential within young people, boys and girls and we need to respond to and encourage this potential in any way we can.  If you have any ideas, contacts with local schools or groups of young people, please do let me know so that I can follow them up.

The distance from Great Yarmouth to Peterborough is 100 miles and few people are prepared to travel so far for an event. We have given careful consideration to the size of our Region so, in response we take care to offer a choice of venues for our Regional and Area Days. We do hope that you will support these events.
