Join Celia Eddy for an content filled, informative, hands on workshop exploring the use of geometrical shapes in patchwork.
Suitable for Beginners or those with some experience of patchwork who want to expand or improve on their skills.
A brief introduction, illustrated by examples of patchwork patterns, blocks and quilts, explains the many ways in which geometrical shapes can be used to create both simple and complex patterns. This is followed by a practical, ‘hands on’ session in which a patchwork panel/s will be sewn to be used either as cushions, bags or simply as decorations.
There will be a choice of patterns to work with, from very simple to more challenging.
Learning points covered will include methods for creating and using templates, how to sew various shapes by hand or machine and use of colour.
Sewing machines are provided, A requirements list will be sent out on booking. Tea, coffee & biscuits are provided, bring a packed lunch.
